WEEKLY LETTER, WK 41/42

RIO+20 Project
  • So, everyone, as I'm sure you know, the Rio +20 Kick Off Carnival was a huge success... I've already gotten congratulations and interest from local politicians, national politicians, and as high up as the cooridinator for the UN Children and Youth Group!
 "Sister School":
  • 3E is now in contact with a bilingual school (Portuguese/English) in Sâo Paulo which we will be working with throughout the year, undertaking projects simultaneously... projects like a.) going on a seasonal nature walk in our respective locales and comparing what we see b.) tracking what we use, and waste, at home and comparing between cultures c.) having a "mock Rio +20" debate via satellite...think of it as a modern day pen-pal project: we will be sharing ideas with one another through satellite conference calls, email, etc.

I'm adding a whole section on this site for our Rio+20 project, here at the right side of the page...

...speaking of which, if there are any parents that do not wish photos of their child posted on UN websites, local newspapers (hard copy and web), or on the blog, let me know...

  • We're having a test on the "Just a Dream" vocabulary words from 2 weeks ago, but nothing assigned as homework... the test will be on Wednesday... just a heads-up
