Well, FINALLY! Our Conference Call was fantastic!
Like something from "Star Trek".
Thanks, Elaine!
The kids were very well prepared, on both sides of the Atlantic! Questions ranged from "what is Swedish Christmas like" to "how do you as 3rd graders help to keep Sao Paulo clean?"
We kept the first set of questions friendly in a "getting-to-know-you" kind of way, in order to introduce ourselves and meet them... then we posed more difficult, environmentally-based questions about local waters and what each class is doing to protect these...
There are 11 Aubrick students, and 25 3E-ers, so we partnered 2 of ours to 1 of theirs, and began by introducing each group and posing questions to one another. Great stuff!
We made history yesterday.
Gingersnaps were provided! Thanks Ericsson.
HOMEWORK
Math:
The last math packet of the year... "Estimating Volume", with some actual at-home measuring! There's a little multiplication on the last page, to freshen memories.
Those math worksheets that were "overdue" were to be handed in yesterday.
Reading Logs: Last check on Monday the 19th (we didn't have time yesterday, so I'll be looking for 2 entires)
WEEK IN REVIEW...
We're getting our "Black Binders" ready to show all of you at Open House on Monday the 19th, 16-17:00. All of the work so far will be showcased by your child using these binders. Find the student checklist below (you may not know what half of it is, but your child should)...
