WEEKLY LETTER, WK 5-6

Hello again!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

• Ice Skating Klassikern for Grade 3 next WEDNESDAY the 8th
• Leaving school arouond 9:15, back before 13:00
• items to bring:
• ice skates
• helmet
• thick gloves (mittens are better)
• thick ski/snow pants
• lots of warm clothes, it may be -15 again!
• packed lunch

• We are in the process of scheduling a PARENT MEETING, as required by our arbetsplan kalendar. However, as I just saw or will be seeing most of you during the Development Talks, I feel I have little left to say at a meeting...

That being said, I would like to discuss

• some of the math methods that I'm teaching
• the homework expectations
• some concerns we 3rd grade teachers have about facebook (mmmm, yeah, I know)
• The pantburkar project

HOMEWORK

• Last week we had a TALSORTERING SUBTRACTION sheet in which the kids MUST write the mellanled. They know how to do this, but some still did not. Perhaps this is why we should have a math meeting for the parents...
• Also last week, the kids had to read and answer some questions, as well as define some words and translate them into English (the words, not the defintions). Many were unable to define the words, as no online dictionary or hard copy dictionary was available. I will give those that did not do it until Monday for BOTH the Math (with mellanled) and Science.
• SO: no homework this Thursday, but I will give some on Monday... which will be due the FOLLOWING MONDAY, and then we'll go back to Thursday to Thursday. Sound good?
