MATH:
- features of the triangle; types of triangle; intro to angles (degrees greater than, less than 90)
- MULTIPLICATION! It is our class goal to learn completely our 1's through 11's times tables by the end of 3rd grade, so see HOMEWORK section below
- Problem Solving: multiplication
- The NPs (national tests) are finished, except for one math game we will begin next week
- SUBTRACTION: algorithm style (one over the other) with and without borrowing
- 3 TIMELINES: the persoanl timeline, the partner project with the Fossil Fuels Timeline, using the iPads and world book online, and the 3rd grade, class 3abe Timeline of the Earth
- Stone Age: reading, class projects, visit to History Museum in late May
READING/WRITING:
- still chugging along with weekly grammar (building sentences from new parts of speech: preppositions, conjuctions, pronouns)
- Paragraphs!
- Reading Groups
- still working with the story: characters, setting, description, building a picture in the reader's mind (see HOMEWORK)
Math:
1.) 20 minutes everyday, flashcards 3's 4's 6's 7's 8's 9's (six different colors)
2.) multiplication speed test, to train for next Thursday's classroom speed test (one every week until end of year)
Writing:
To finally, totally finish the Final Draft of the Scary Story. They have a guideline paper with them, things we've been talking about for months. It will be no surprise. Each student has seen me one-on-one at the "Writing Chopping Block" to rework and improve the stories. I gave 3 sheets of clean, white paper for the Final Draft
the LETTERS TO UTBILDNINGSFÖRVALTNINGEN will be handed over on May 21st, and I am still missing about 8 of them... please FINISH THESE UP at home.
