DISCO? MAYBE...

So, The Valentine's Disco? What to do...?

As you may... or may not... know, the kids wanted to host another disco for the class fundraising campaign. It was scheduled for this Friday, Valentine's Day, from 15:30 to 17:00. There hasn't been much planning so far amongst the kids... It's not looking good: We have run into some problems that need to be ironed out IF the kids will attempt this...

1.) I will be away both Thursday and Friday with a daughter under the spell of "WinterVomitSickness" (lovely name... I always wonder what's wrong with the simple old "stomach flu" nomenclature?), so I cannot be here :(

2.) Therefore, if this is going to happen, we will need at least 3 parents to volunteer for chaperone duty from 14:30 to 17:30. I think it may be too much to ask, but...

parent duties:

collect entrance fee of 20kr

find change for anyone with a larger bill than 20

collect money from the treat sales

baking

hook up and control the music

clean up WITH the kids

3.) We need to be cleaned and out of the building latest 17:30

4.) We will need a computer and a Johannes School staff member to help hook up the soundsystem

5.) The kids still want to sell treats and charge entrance but haven't yet begun baking or organizing.

We will need several kids/families to bake something if this is to happen at all...

It looks like it may be a LOT of work, but the kids are really excited... the only way we can do this is if we have some parental help, so if you're interested, email me at           mr_afm@hotmail.com     and let me know what you can help with. In my opinion, I think they should push for a later date, as they haven't been as organized this time as they were for the Christmas Disco. But, it's really up to you, the parents.
