End Of The Year Activities Part 1

(sent fromthe new iPad, so excuse the typos!) Well, it's quite literally that time of year again...the End of the Year!!!! These posts will come in a few parts... For now, the HOMEWORK: Sorry I missed this last Thursday, but it's 1. Speed Tests: please check that your child has at least passed 2s through 4s...if not, extra at-home practice is needed 2. Grammar Packet Both due Thursday 3. Reading Logs every Monday (I only got 8 today!! Aaaaahhhh) Open House June 5th times: 16 to 18 Come in and see what your kids have been doing... Points to cover: 1. Checkout our iPads and our ongoing Fossil Fuels Project 2. Take a Speed Test yourself and see how you do 3. Practice your talsortering skills so you can relate to your kid's schoolwork 4. See our Geometry, Stone Age, and Timeline projects 5. Review your child's National Tests 6. Discuss next year, the summer reading list, etc Avslutning Dag June 13th, 10 am in the schoolyard, followed by a quick goodbye meeting inthe classroom Final Rio +20 Event... We'll be having an end-of-project celebration for the kids on June 7th,reviewing the year with a slideshow and speakers... We would like each child to bring in a blank or reversible t-shirt so that they can partake in the following at school that day: Paint the Rio +20 logo and slogan on a re-used t shirt During the days of the event June 22 -24, get your picture taken wherever you maybe and with whomever is there to show you are actively raising awareness about the project Think of other ways toucan raise awareness during the event and photo this, if you can Send the photos to usandwe will place them on our UN news page and our Johannesburg rio +20 Facebook site, if ok with parents ( if not, the pics will onlybe used in the classroom, so send them anyway!!!!)
