WEEK 45!

Hi all!

Week In review:

SCIENCE:
We had a couple of awesome visitors today! 2 high school Science students, Elin and Hanna from Norra Real, who are working on a science education project, came in to do some great lab experiments with 4E... all about evaporation, solid/liquid/gas, and acidity! Cool stuff, and they were amazed by the amount of knowledge our kids already have! the second lesson will be next week, week 46, Friday the 16th...

We have basically finished the unit on photosynthesis... as you know, the students did very well on the end-of-unit test...

I introduced the basics of cells and how they act as building blocks of all life. This is difficult stuff, and I will keep it basic, moving on to life cycles and food webs...

MATH:
New unit: GEOMETRY... with emphasis on measuring in cm/m/mm, area, and perimeter, describing properties of shapes...

(not this advanced!)

HOMEWORK: Simple, regular shapes AREA and PERIMETER: A = L x W, perimeter = all sides added together.

I will post the LPP, so you can take a look at the goals.

READING/WRITING:

Reading Groups are going superbly... lots of comprehension questions and focus on writing full ideas, thoughts, and sentences.

"Boy" work: Descriptive Free Writing (in class)... "The Meanest Grown-Up"... trying, like Roald Dahl, to describe an incredibly mean/harsh grown-up using humor and description of appearances, thoughts, personality, and action:
