This Week In News:

HOMEWORK

It will begin again next Thursday... and continue on with the Thurs to Thurs schedule...

Reading Log still due on Monday, though.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Open Classroom was a success...

Any parents that didn't attend need to receive the Skriftlig Omdomen and copy of the Goals, as well as see the IUP binders that the kids have gotten together.

I can send the Skriftlig Omdomen home with your child if you allow it.


SUBJECTS

Reading/Writing:

• working on descriptive writing with comparisons...
• understanding and planning the story, with plot, characters, setting, etc...
• "Boy" projects still in the works (today, we had a bit of role playing, to show how it is to describe characters without speaking, simply by body language)
• Reading Groups: "Phantom Tollbooth" and "Stink" will continue as is; "George's Medicine" and "Flat Stanley" need new books
• continuously working with our goals from the Skriftlig Omdomen in different ways, so it's important that you review those documents

Math:

• multiplication and its relationship with addition and division; times tables; understanding the equals sign with varying räknesätt
• Math Groups to start again next week

Science:

• I will be attending an NTA (science and engineering course) for teachers on January 23rd, where I will get practice with and materials for an entire unit on Electricity

Art:

• moving on to landscapes, using paints in varying tones of black and white only

NOTE: Fritids closes at 16:00 on Monday! Staff-wide APT meeting!
