Book&Author: Looking for Alaska, John Green
Question 27
So
if I would have been the author for Looking for Alaska I would
definitely not change the ending of the story. Way before when you come
to the end, it feels that the end has already come to you. Or in other
words, it felt that you are just in the middle of the story, the story
has alreay ended. Half way in the story there is a page that is totally
black with the word "After". If you haven't read Looking for Alaska you
of course have no clue of what that page really means. But after that
page, the story was never the same. Like it says at the back of the
book. I won't try to spoil to much but all of a sudden Alaska dies and I
really loved how John Green ended the story.
Question 7
In
the beginning of the story you wouldn't believe that it will end like
it did end. Through out the book I didn't really get to know how Alaska
was as a person until the climax. For example something about her family
etc.. So for Alaska being one of the main characters I only knew that
she loved smoking, drinking etc. When the time Alaska dies in the book
no one really knows why she died. I think that John Green should have
done some foreshadowing or a flashback of Alaska's life so we get to
know more about her life at the beginning when Alaska gets introduced.
And maybe also one of the reasons she took suicide is something that
maybe has been disturbing her from the past.
